Notification when someone applies for your club
This must happen to plenty of people who have either made a club for RP reasons or for other functions on site and others want to be part of it immediately but the club cannot be made free for everyone. Having a notification when someone applies for the club you've made will allow users to get access to clubs much quicker. This could also help management members who have a lot of work to do and easily forget this essential part of the job.
See the number of received gifts
Hello,
there is something that I and several people I have talked to want to have. It's not extremely important, but it would be a useful feature. If someone gives me something, it would be good to see the number of them. For example, people often send me animal feed and as compensation I send chocolate frog cards. Sometimes, however, I do not know how much food was in my chest before the gift came and I can not figure out how many times I got a bag of food. It's hard to pick the right number of chocolate frog cards.
Therefore, it would be very useful if I could see in how many numbers the gift was sent to me. Another example is that I got something for Christmas and would like to give something back next year. It would be nice to see how much I got, so I can send back as much.
I would be very grateful for this opportunity!
Adopt pets in The Pet Kennel
I have been thinking about this for a long time and I think adopting abandoned pets that live in The Kennel would be a great idea. We all love animals here and it is a shame not being able to adopt them, even though they are just online animals. Maybe we could buy them with galeons so everyone accepted in World of Potter will be able to adopt a pet.
Another good idea about this situation would be if we could feed them and cuddle them while waiting to be adopted. Thank you for your time.
Homework timer
When you are grading homeworks and the timer ticks all the way down to 0:00 you don't get a new homework like you used to but just keep the homework up front with the timer standing still at 0:00.
That way you "block" the homework to be graded because no one else will get it as the system still sees you grading it. This further slows down the whole grading system, as some might just want to check out the grading and don't really bother to write a feedback anytime soon.
That way many homeworks might be laying around for a while until the assistant teachers will grade it.
I don't know if the bug is on every WoX-Site but I discovered this one on the German WoP-Site.
Cheers!
Make Medicine An Item
So all of us have been there at some point: we're ready to go read that latest news post, reply to a topic or even take advantage of the free food when we're interupted with the news that we have fainted. If you happen to be a risky person and carry 200 galleons around with you everywhere you go, then you're safe from the disasterous fate of sitting in the Hospital Wing (or your fandom alternative <3) for a whole hour, and can frolic around freely in front of all of us fainted folk. But if you do happen to worry about dropping precious money all of the floors or don't want to pay $2 just to be free of an hour's doing nothing, then you're doomed. You think of your hundreds, thousands, hundred thousands of galleons stuck in the bank, and just wish they could be useful in some way. Which brings me onto My Proposition.
I propose the opportunity to buy medicine without having to keep the treatcherous amount of money stuffed into your pocket at all times - by making it an item avalible to buy in a shop (possibly the Apothecary) - it'd still cost you 200 galleons, but you'd have access to it before you faint and still encourages you to buy food instead of fainting because.....it's cheaper...
Editing bar always visible
A lot of sites allow you to see and access the editing bar at all times, no matter how far you've scrolled down, and I think that would be soooo handy for WoP... When you're about to publish a library book and you have to fix every little bit of layout and have to keep scrolling up and down to edit the same thing a looot of times, well.. that really sucks :') So I would love to be able to see the editing bar at all times!
Slow Mode Chat
Slow Mode Chat
Slow mode chat would be activated by an admin if the chat got chaotic in the sense of so many conversations at once and chat is going to quick, this would allow the chat to slow and calm down, this would help as many users may not join chat if it's going too fast.
Thank you for reading <3
- Rod
Chat is not always going fast, usually at busy times, some users may get annoyed and feel they cannot take part in chat if they can't reply when they want to be able to - I understand that a fast chat may seem scary to some users which is why it's best they come into chat at a quieter time so they feel more at ease.
A 'I have read and accepted the guidelines' Button on the Grading Guide.
Hello dear WoP Team and Community!
Lately there have been a lot of complaints about unfair grading (On different websites) or wrong grading. Some of the comments along with the 'wrong' grades show that the user hasnt read the guidelines & rules carefully or at all. There are still many cases were people get lower grades because they are a bit less creative or have some spelling errors (although the homework is still understandable). The people receiving the grades then are unhappy since they deserve better and write complains over complains, this is taking the fun of this amazing website and pushing users to not continue anymore since they dont care about it anymore.
To minimize this problem of not caring to read the rules and guidelines, maybe you could add a confirmation button at the end of the rules/guidelines page for grading?
And instead of only doing it once, maybe every monday or second monday everyone who tries to grade homework will be brought back to that site and has to reconfirm it again? That way people could also refresh their memory on the actual rules a bit. I'm sure older students who might already know them by heart, wouldnt mind to look over them (if not reread them) again for the better overall grading on the website. (please take those 5 seconds)
or maybe to actually force people to read them: add a hidden keyword, that they need to type in at the end, so that they confirm. Maybe make it random generated so that not everyone has the same one and hide it within the guidelines (still easy to notice that it doesn belong there but not make it obvious on the first glance).
And maybe for people to take it more seriously, add a function that bans them from grading for 1-7 days depending on how awful they grade. It would be great if Teachers could have the function to mark a person if they graded COMPLETELY wrong/unfair and if the person has 3 marks the teacher gets to decide for how long that person will be unable to grade. Maybe add an automatic Owl, that sends the 'banned' person a message for how long he/she is unable to grade and the reason (unreasonable grading 3 times already). The more often a person still continues this, the higher the amount of days gets.
Although this is a nice idea, some users may just click that they have read without reading and the problem would stay the same. Luckily we do have ATs and Teachers and a complaint system for homework if a student feel it's been graded wrong.
See the number of HW to be graded
Instead of clicking the "Begin homework grading" button, then wait for the new page to load, and finally knowing that no homework is available for grading, maybe there can be a tab showing how many HW are waiting for their grade, or at least warning people when no HW is available. Maybe something below the green button (the one to start the grading)... it would be a gain of time.
Updated quidditch rules
I've already written them, and it's only rules that have been used in matches. They just need to be accepted by a Minister/Headmistress and then put into the site.
