You Should Be Able To Create Topics At Every Level
You should be able to create topics at every level. If someone isn't at level five, and what they have to say doesn't relate to any topic, they should be able to create one. Just thinking of that now.
The system that users must reach a certain level before creating topics is to prevent trolls or new users who are unaware of the rules from creating topics that break the site rules. Waiting until they reach level fives provides them with the time to get accustomed to the rules of the site.
If they wish for a topic to be created a certain way, they can always ask another user and describe what they would like.
delete textbooks after buying them
Once you buy a textbook, you should have it for the rest of that year, so make the book disappear from the shop.
Since you sometimes also gift books to friends, it would make no sense to delete them from the shops after you bought them. If you already have the book, you can just scroll past it and ignore it (:
After being sorted you are led to the page with the basic rules. You should study them carefully before starting to play this game. If there are still open questions, we recommend you take a look at the rest of the rules and guidelines. Furthermore your head of house, the prefects, the teachers, the management members, the headmaster and the minister for magic, as well as many other users will surely help you with every question you may have (:
Ohnmächtigkeit - ich bin weg.
Als würde ich eine Stunde warten, bis ich wieder spielen kann. Tut mir leid, aber das ganze ist total affig. Es gibt so viele bessere Platformen, die mir wenigstens nicht die Zeit klauen. Mir tun all die Menschen leid, die darauf reinfallen, oder gezwungen werden, täglich online zu gehen, nur, um nicht in die Falle zu tappen. Mich kriegt ihr nicht - ich bin weg.
We are currently rearranging the ads on the site, which is why they became a bit messy the last days. We are trying to fix this, so the ads won't take up too much space. If you still feel disturbed by them, you can purchase an ad-free profile anytime.
Only grade homework in your own year
So, the rule is you can't grade homework above your own year. So if you're year one, you can only grade Y1 homework, and if you're year two, you can grade Y1 and Y2 homework, so on and so forth. Great, right? Well, no.
The points system gets reset every schoolyear, yet within a few days, Y4 students get to rack up their points by grading FOUR YEARS of homework, while Y1 and Y2 stay behind and have to work way harder to get points, because they have less homework to grade and even if they do, it's always possible a higher-up has already graded it.
This is not only annoying (looking at that "no homework to be graded" page is stupid) but also quite discouraging because it feels like people in Y1 and Y2 can't get recognition for their hard work, because other people come across points easier and thus get the recognition (and awards, and gifts because they're in the top 5 of the points, so on and so forth).
My solution: only let students grade homework from their own year. Of course, this can be paired with the removal of the "no grading friends' homework" rule, because that rule doesn't really make sense either and doesn't add anything to the site, it just causes people to unfriend a lot so they can grade homework.
This rule allows Y1 and Y2 students to have just as big of a chance when it comes to getting points from grading. As for the facts that Y1s can't grade homework until they're level 3, this would only be a problem in the first week or so, since after that most students have gathered enough XP to become level 3. This W1/W2 problem can be easily solved with ATs and Teachers working together, and maybe allowing the another year (possibly Y2 or maybe the highest year on the site) to grade Y1W1 and Y1W2 homework.
Grading Boycott
The Teacher's and AT's are so particular about how their homework assignments are graded so why don't we do this instead because there are many of us who wont even grade homework anymore because we end up losing more even if we are just slightly off...
I petition that the way grading is completed to be changed and I am sure many of us would like to see it changed.
Teachers and/or the AT's who work on that subject will be the ones who give the final grade according to the way the think the lessons should be done. Students can still grade homework to get house points and galleons but the way they grade would determine how many points and galleons they would get.
Example #1:
>>>>>>>>>>Teacher/AT gives the final grade of Outstanding on an assignment, the student gets 10HP and 10G on the assignment.
>>>>>>Student A gave the peer review grade as an Outstanding, they get 5HP and 5G.
>>>>>>Student B gave the peer review grade of an Exceeds Expectations, they get 4HP and 4G.
>>>>>>Student C gave the peer review grade of an Good, they get 3HP and 3G.
>>>>>>Student D gave the peer review grade of an Acceptable, they get 2HP and 2G.
Example #2:
>>>>>>>>>>Teacher/AT gives the final grade of Exceeds Expectations on an assignment, the student gets 8HP and 8G on the assignment.
>>>>>>Student A gave the peer review grade as an Outstanding, they get 4HP and 4G
>>>>>>Student B gave the peer review grade of Poor, they get 2HP and 2G.
>>>>>>Student C gave the peer review grade of Dreadful, they get 1HP and 1G.
>>>>>>Student D gave the peer review grade of Troll, they get 0HP and 0G.
What this means is depending on how the student and the teacher/at graded would determine if the student gets...
>>>5HP and 5G
>>>4HP and 4G
>>>3HP and 3G
>>>2HP and 2G
>>>1HP and 1G
>>>0HP and 0G
It would be run on a scale on how close the students peer review grade would be to the teacher/at's final grade. And the only time a peer review grade of Troll would get anything above a 0HP and 0G would be when the teacher grades a Dreadful or Troll as the Troll is a grade that shouldn't be given lightly.
Example of Scale:
-5 = 0
-4 = 1
-3 = 2
-2 = 3
-1 = 4
0 = 5 (Same grade as the Teacher or AT's final grade)
-1 = 4
-2 = 3
-3 = 2
-4 = 1
-5 = 0
Homework
> Submitted Homework should have a 24 hour grade period were student can edit the assignment before it sent for grading.
> Peers should not have the final say in the grading but should be able to critique/give advice on how to better future assignments.
(side note: students who review should still get house points based on the fairness of their review.)
> Teachers and AT should get the final say on the grade to prevent unfair grading
(side note: if this was implemented Teachers should be allowed to have 3-4 ATs.)
CHANGE THE NAME FREE
Hello. I write my name wrong but when I go to change my name I have to pay 19'99 euros. That's horrible and expensive. This have to be free. I wont pay for that. I made a mistake with my name, but I wont pay real money. Injustice.
If you made a mistake when creating your account you can always talk to the minister of your site and explain your situation. The minister can then change your name.
1 difficult spell beyond a characters year
I first like to say that i understand that everyone would be playing a Hermoine or Harry if they were allowed to use whatever difficult spells beyond their own years.
The idea is to grant students the privilege to select 1 difficult spell that is ONE year above their own. from the ''magical abilities'' list that their character is able to use In Game.
My Idea is listed below
- Students of their own respective year select 1 spell that is listed 1 year above their own
- Students submit their choice to officials
- The selected spell is officially recorded and added to that person their profile (like a status)
- Students using other spells than the one they have chosen will be punished accordingly
- Spell selection will be in the 1st week of each new Hogwarts year
- Submissions done after week 1 will be dismissed
Implementing this system would mean quite a bit of work for the site officials who monitor this. Which is why i have added the last 2 points.
This privilege will only be granted to the students who have submitted their chosen spell during the 1st week of each hogwarts year. Those that haven't have simply missed the boat and will have to wait until next In-Game year.
Granting this right for students to use 1 spell above their year in IG-topics is as said before, a privilege.. that should be punished heavily when abused
Should a prefect notice a student using any spell other than the one they have submitted. They will be considered to willingly and in full awareness of their actions ignore the rules.
Abusing this privilege
Example:
- 1st year student has submitted and recieved the privilege to use ''protego'' in topics.
- the student uses ''expelliarmus'' instead of his/her selected ''protego''
- Student loses the privilege to use ''protego'' for the remainder of the year
- Student is unable to submit a new spell for 2 reasons
reason 1: Students can only submit the spell of their choosing in week 1 of each year
reason 2: Student has willingly and in full awareness broken the rules
- The student their submission in week 1, 2nd year will be dismissed
- The student their submission in week 1, 3rd year will be granted once again.
It might seem pretty strict and heavy, but since i would consider this a HUGE privilege, one should cherish it with great respect or suffer the consequences.
