It is mostly staffs job. Prefects are there, if staff is not there.

If you are VIP, then you can put in a photo, when you are making the topic, but in later replies, then you can just use the picture code: <img src="URL TO THE PICTURE" />

I used 3 years on that account and it had become graduated, so what is the difference? The difference was that I needed a break from the site back then, where I wanted to continue after and I lost it after the function had told me that I would still have it when the deactivation was done.
Sometimes people need a break from the site and wants to come back to the user that they once had, so then seeing it deleted will make the person stop using the site.

The deactivation thing didn't prevent the deletion. I had a user I had used for three years, which got deleted during the 12 months that it was deactivated. I agree with Kayte on this one that an automated system shouldn't be a thing.

As I know you are a journalist on EU, then this is what I think about the idea:
The idea in itself is great and I agree that it is nice to see the comments and the amount of likes on the articles that we write. The problem is just that on EU, then it is the CEs that publish the articles and not the journalists themselves, so it would be hard to make it so that the right journalist would be able to get the notifications for comments and likes. This would probably end with people abusing this to fill up the Chief Editors's notifications, which I know people tried to do, when it was the like feature for articles had been added. I get why you want it, but I don't think it would be really that great an option.

Also, people are directed to add their own ideas here, so that they can get upvotes.

I don't really see the point in this. You can just send an owl and just make a topic? I don't see the point
