this is amazing xD
This is definitely something I agree with tbh! The exponential growth of interest provided one of my main incentives for logging in on my alt accounts each day, but now that's gone, I don't really feel much drive to remain active on those other accounts. They're mostly disappearing into the ether, sometimes to the point of gaining VIP after two weeks of inactivity, which also demotivates me from actually spending money and buying the VIP as I've always been prone to do. My pets all ran away because I wasn't logging in often and couldn't even really afford to feed them; just pet medicine alone was basically more than I was earning in interest. While interest can of course be lessened for people who have far greater bank balances as a sort of "catch up" mechanism (perhaps having the percentage of interest decrease as you hit certain balance milestones, like 10% until you reach 10k, then 9% until the next milestone, and 1% from 50k onwards, or the same for smaller balances?), in my eyes, capping it at such a low base rate seems to be a little bit of a demotivating setback. <3
Hi there! It’s been brought to my attention that a lot of the wording you’ve used in this post is actually a direct copy, or a very close modification, of the words I used in my forum for WoP AU:
https://feedback.worldofpotter.eu/communities/1/topics/1095-world-of-potter-australia-wop-au
I put a lot of time and effort into creating that forum, and it’s still something which holds my invested interests. As you might be able to tell, I 100% understand the passion which goes into wanting a site to include your own region, people and/or language! WoP AU is definitely that for me, primarily due to the vast discrepancy between our timezone and that of the EU or the US (although the site would be entirely inclusive for English speakers in Asian countries as well of course, due to the incredibly close similarities in timezones: from Australia, I’m exactly as close to China in time as I am the western side of my own country, and closer in time to Korea and Japan than I am to my neighbouring states!).
Nonetheless, I would really appreciate that you at least give some credit if you don’t choose to repost this in your own words. The words I used in my post were entirely my own, and it’s not fair to stumble upon something which I feel takes a lot of essence from them and from the original post into which I put so much time and effort.
All the best with your site ♡
Giving this one a pokeee ♡
Also, to add on some above points – a WoP server within the general AU/NZ timezone would also serve wonders for users in many Asian countries who still wish to write in an English server. So many timezones overlap or, at the very least, are far closer to one another than we all are to the rest of EU and the US. It would definitely change so much for so many people to be included within a site timezone which is way more applicable to them – not just within Australia, but far beyond, too ♡
*bumps* :3
Just to add to this, in the wake of the amazing plots which have been happening across sites, and the amazing GMed plot on EU recently: It really is a shame as well to not be able to participate due to timezone issues, especially with how amazing the calibre of the plots are. Events will usually start at about 3am my time, and by the time I wake up, there are usually far over 100 posts. If I do either read through or simply join, everyone else will be asleep, so the plot doesn't continue until later - when I'm no longer awake - and so many new posts will arrive again then. There's almost no opportunity to actually join properly, at least without sacrificing sleep or an actual immersion in the topic/s. The cycle repeats itself xD
As plot leader on a WoX site myself, I definitely long to participate fully and time is a legitimate concern of mine. I know for a fact there'll be hours of sleep I sacrifice to get plots running in future for the rest of the site, and other times where I'll have to call in the help of other members of staff just to get starters posted when it's impossible for me to be there. Sadly I do have a life of my own so can't always pull all-nighters xD
It would be incredible to be able to have plots run at a realistic and manageable time for me and so many others who can't join and love the work the amazing plot team does! I've had discussions with people before who share the same issues as me, and hopefully a WoP AU could change that. <3

bumping this again, especially seeing as it's been long over a year since a WoP AU was seemingly confirmed and advertised for applications on the NB (without any update)?
