World of Potter China (WoP CN)
Hello hello!
I am here writing this because I have an avid belief in the possibility for a World of Potter site to take off in China. How does World of Potter CN sound? :D
According to https://asianabsolute.co.uk/blog/2018/04/24/languages-spoken-in-china/, Chinese is the most spoken language in the world, and the country China is no doubt quite populated as well. Since there are so many people in the world who are fluent in Chinese as well as so many people in the world that are obsessed with the Harry Potter fandom, we could perhaps have a new site for Chinese speakers!
I myself is fluent in Chinese, and I've met many people on WoP who are also fluent in Chinese too! In addition, the time zones are different, as it's 13 hours ahead of CST in the US, and 7 hours ahead of UK time in the UK. Therefore, if there was a World of Potter CN, it would be easier for everyone to communicate as no one is going to be staying up sleep deprived just to go on WoP!
Some of the many benefits of World of Potter CN:
- A better environment for Chinese people to connect to people who share their country, provinces, cities and even understand their general culture, which can be much more different than people realize
- Fewer language barriers, and greater ease of communication. Chinese is a completely different language than any other language in the world, as its grammar structure and other vocabulary are way different than English; therefore, it's harder for fluent speakers to blend in with a group of English speakers.
- Pricing for VIP converted to Yuan, representing an accurate cost while simultaneously increasing the likelihood that Chinese people will buy from a currency that they know and trust
- Attracting many more Chinese people who are on WoP US, EU, UK, and others, depending on where they live. English isn't everyone's first language, and WoP CN would make them feel more comfortable to communicate with each other.
- Games of Quidditch at reasonable hours that Chinese people can participate in and attend, without having to sacrifice any reasonable sleeping schedule or sneak on at times they're not supposed to (I dunno, school?)
- The peak time of the sites, and therefore more user activity occurring at a sensible hour rather than very late into the night or early in the morning.
- The existence of a domain such as http://www.worldofpotter.cn, making it far easier for users from Chinese to find the website and join

I definitely know a lot of people would be interested in making this site become reality.
A couple of days ago, I did a mini count on how many of my friends on the WoP US site are Chinese speakers. According to my calculations, approximately 17% out of my 90 friends are Chinese speakers. Therefore, if there are 1550 active users on WoP US, then there will be around 264 users who are able to speak Chinese. Now, this is just an approximate calculation using ratios, so the actual number could be more or less. On the other hand, if one counts the users on WoP EU, UK, and all of the other different language sites, then there could be over 500 Chinese speakers.
Despite I'm not from China, but I'm also a Chinese language user from an Asia country. As I have noticed, due to the restriction of Internet access in China, they are only able to surf the website which has been proven by the China government. However, with the help of the '.cn' domain (which also very popular in mainland China), the users can easily connect and communicate with each other.
Moreover, I have surveyed 'How many Chinese users are interested in Harry Potter' by counting the numbers of active fans in a China fan page. As you can see from the site, there are over 550,000 of Chinese users interested in it. As a conclusion, the domain is the point to attract the Chinese users to join the RP site. Hi there! It’s been brought to my attention that a lot of the wording you’ve used in this post is actually a direct copy, or a very close modification, of the words I used in my forum for WoP AU:

I put a lot of time and effort into creating that forum, and it’s still something which holds my invested interests. As you might be able to tell, I 100% understand the passion which goes into wanting a site to include your own region, people and/or language! WoP AU is definitely that for me, primarily due to the vast discrepancy between our timezone and that of the EU or the US (although the site would be entirely inclusive for English speakers in Asian countries as well of course, due to the incredibly close similarities in timezones: from Australia, I’m exactly as close to China in time as I am the western side of my own country, and closer in time to Korea and Japan than I am to my neighbouring states!).
Nonetheless, I would really appreciate that you at least give some credit if you don’t choose to repost this in your own words. The words I used in my post were entirely my own, and it’s not fair to stumble upon something which I feel takes a lot of essence from them and from the original post into which I put so much time and effort.

I was only trying to refer to the benefits portion of your post as I loved how you worded some of the phrases that I couldn't have worded better since my English isn't the best.
