All applicants should hear back from whoever is incharge of reading the job applications
In my opinion (which I'm allowed to have) I think that most people (especially people in the neurodiverse society) would rather hear back from teachers even if they haven't got the job as in my experience in the past I hadn't heard back if I got the job or not (music AT) and as there wasn't an AT for music at the time nor after I sent the application off I wasn't sure if and why I hadn't got the role so I think this would be an excellent addition (even if it means more work) to site as it would put more people at ease

This is the case on most sites. At least with us you get a small rejection. But often you can't give the reason. But a rejection saying "Sorry, I've decided on someone else. You won't get the job" should be a matter of course. But formulated in a diplomatic and friendly way.
