staff's fc protected

DLL 6 years ago updated by World of Potter 6 years ago 4

Personally I feel if you have a staff job on site, you should get the added perk of having your fc protected, not only because we are staff members but for realism purpose and to save confusion as well, I for one personally get a little upset when I see someone else using my characters fc.  Also the staff are not actually getting paid irl and are putting an awful lot of time and effort into helping the site be great, and racking up countless hours on site. I just think it would be nice to at least have their fc protected so it was unique to them

Since you don't own the copyright of the pictures you use (except if you use photos from yourself of course), you can't stop other users from taking the same pictures. If you feel bothered by users having the same faceclaim as you, you can always contact them and friendly ask if they would mind to change it, often they agree if asked (:

There are far too many users to regulate this, and it makes it unfair to users who would like to use that FC but joined the site after the staff member. It also would make things tricky if a user has a FC, but a staff member then decides to use that FC. It would be unfair to make the user change theirs. If you have a problem with someone else using the same FC as you, either change yours, ask the other user to change theirs (though don't get upset if they say no), or just live with it.

I agree with Kayte/Angela. First off, it's usually not your own picture, it's from the internet, so it's weird to tell people they can't use a picture they found online just because you also found it. Second, yes, you have a staff job, but that doesn't mean you're inherently better than people who don't have staff jobs, and it certainly doesn't mean your entitled to having a faceclaim no one else can use. And like the above commenter, what if you change your faceclaim to one another user already has? Do they have to change it just because you have a staff job so you get to choose which faceclaims people can or can't have? I just think that would be unfair.

You made a really good point about the picture not being theres! It would be understandable if it were an actual picture of themselves or someone they know, but it's pictures of celebrities and other people found off the internet! Wouldn't make much sense to claim something that isn't theirs.
